I just got a job offer from a large corporate firm. The job title they gave me is designer. However, I have a first professional M.Arch degree and I want to pass the IDP, ARE and become an ARCHITECT finally. Am I still eligible for all of these procedure with the 'designer' title since it is not an "architectural designer"? Or it doesn't really matter as long as i have a chance to touch all the sections(programming, schematic design, construction documents, etc.) IDP requires.
"Am I still eligible for all of these procedure with the 'designer' title since it is not an "architectural designer"?"
Yes. The title is just relative to the firm you work at. They conducted a poll on the title used by architectural firms for those that were interns and they all differed BUT we are sure though all the titles were different they were still listed as "Interns" in the eyes of NCARB and their IDP program.
Like Dr. Architecture stated review the IDP Guidelines or if you want to save time just call them up and ask or send an email.
IDP, ARE and becoming an architect, does the job TITLE matter?

Thx!
If your goal is to pursue licensure, your title has no impact as long as you able to count your experience towards IDP given your work setting.
Review the full IDP Guidelines available from http://www.ncarb.org and you see nothing on position title.
Have you started your NCARB Council Record?

as long as your supervisor can approve your hours then it doesn’t matter if you’re a janitor or a designer.
