favorite web site NAMES

WonderK

There is a craft to naming web sites, a certain cleverness about picking that URL that, in only a few characters, sort of sums things up for you or your organization. Some URLs are basic acronyms and some people just use their names, but sometimes I stumble upon a gem, be it a pun or play on words, and I just think to myself, "right on".

I was wondering if any of you had any favorite web site names that you thought were really clever. Good site design is not necessary but extra points if the site AND the name are cool. archinect.com, for example, gets a gold star :o)

Getting back to my original theme, here's another one with a very singular and very clear purpose:

www.sweetjesusihatebilloreilly.com

WonderK darling, I believe you were the one who introduced me to www.tomcruiseisnuts.com!!

Which I could just as easily call sweetjesusihatetomcruise cuz that's exactly how I feel!

garpike, I agree, but they could take that font down a couple of notches and I would be able to stare at it longer.

lekizz, what scares me the most is that someone in Wales actually knows what that means. If anything.

that ni9e.com makes me happy. I especially appreciate the background music.

WonderK, maybe the font is SO BIG because they have an high traffic of middle age to elderly viewers...you ever think of that?!!

Either way, when viewing the page, hold down the 'ctrl' button and scroll with your mouse...that should fix it.

bloodyhell.nl

It's a blog (in Dutch) by two girls Gryts and Lotte. They write about girly stuff and do it brilliant. Bloodyhell=sweet&cute :-)

And I also think bloodyhell.nl sounds better than bloodyhell.com dunno why. Sometimes it's nice when the dot-something plays a part in the name, like atowle's suggestion: dontclick.it

The best ones for me are those with unintentional double meanings.
(As a great comedian once said: "The great thing about double entendres is that they can only mean one thing!")
Don't know if all these still work, but they certainly did when I last checked:
