Need examples of modern Craftsman

nathanc

Looking for work sort of James Cutler-esque, but applied on a larger scale. Thanks in advance.

Yuck. modern craftsman sounds like a contradiction in terms...

Check out:

Miller | Hull
BCJ (Bohlin Cywinski Jackson)

They specialize in that Cutler/Northwest 'style' whatever that means...

I don't feel that it is appropriate to apply the craftsman style to a larger scale. The style has an inherently delicate scale. To apply it to anything larger than a modest bungalow house is nearly sacrilegious.

Case in point

However, the above suggestion to look at BCJ is a good one.

AHHH those guys look like 4 Rems. Our impersonation of Rem consists of a german accent saying "I like to watch you tinkle." Why? Studio...I dunno. Weird things happen to your brain at 4 am.

What you get when you apply a residential aesthetic to a large scale.
