NJ Land of Mediocrity

Good to know that the 911 Memorial for Hoboken had better finalists than what was chosen for the STATE 911 Memorial. I mean what did that take all of 5 minutes? New Times Roman font? Two walls angled towards the WTC site? Give me a break! A first year design student can be more insightful. Fucking old boy network I am guessing. Protest this to high heaven, make them do it over and get some real talent.

Damn NJ.

yeah, I wonder if those renderings do the project any justice...
I guess D Box wasn't in their budget. By the way, can anyone find the Hoboken memorial links? I don't know where that site went. Seems like they took it down.

Javier--

Fred Schwartz did win two commissions.

He's designed the winning entries for the NJ and Westchester County 9-11 memorials.

These are terrible! That entry that is a transparent wall with walkways all accross it is ludicious. Why would you want to BLOCK the great view of Manhattan that you have from the Hoboken pier??!!!! Totally none sensical imo.

Must all memorials suck? Has anyone seen the new WW2 in DC? It's horrific!
