well the super bowl is over with...so what does detroit do now? i was downtown a bit this weekend and it great to see detroit being a city, but i'm left with this uneasy feeling that it's just going to last the weekend. so what next? will this last? how can it last?
I live in the City of Detroit, approx. 3 miles north of the madness that has taken place downtown this weekend. As a resident, I am intimately involved with many of the city's much discussed troubles, every single day. The influx of the super wealthy for one weekend won't solve any of them, or have any long-term positive effect on the city. However, I'm sure I will see lots of Super Bowl XL-related debris blowing around empty streets in the next few weeks.
