Partly b/c of the cultural significance of the sharing of diverse expereinces in a thriving haven of the most wayward of souls..and partly b/c I want drink for cheap, I figured an archinect thread would be perfect. And probably done before, and just not seen by me.
Anyway:
Zoblowski's (Sp? No clue, but around Bedford)
Vol de Nuit
Niagra
Double Hapiness
Happy Ending
Botanica
Welcome to the Johnson's [cheap but smells of piss]
Royal Oak [if you can't pull ass here, well you um....]
Union Pool [great atmosphere]
Barcade [tapper!]
Larry Laurence [they have dekonnik on tap - if you can find it]
Happy Endings on Tuesday [see royal oak]
Cherry Tavern [great biking destination]
Dark Room [I don't know, it depends on the night]
Bushwick Country Club [miniature golf and cheap beer]
Blue and Gold [CHEAPEST beer - $3 New Castle]
Beauty Bar [sceeeeenie teeeeeeenie]
While living in NYC, my favorite place was the Grassroots Tavern on St. Mark's Place in the East Village. Cozy, dark, not too loud or crowded, and it had its own resident dog and cat.
1849 on bleecker street - goldrush themed bar, moose heads hanging on the walls, superb
welcome to the johnsons is great too. and the piss smell adds to the atmosphere. the i-had-a-party-when-my-parents-went-out-of-town-and-someone-pissed-everywhere atmosphere. and 2 dollar cans of PBR. house party. rad.
the other room is great. or yet another room. the crowd gets kind of dopey on the weekends. i have a friend who considers it his 'winchester' (a reference to the movie 'shaun of the dead')

It's bars, not bar's, for Pete's sake.

the rainbow room is a fun place to vomit.
the apartment: 419 West 13th Street - If you can find the anonymous doorway (there's no sign - but often a queue/line)
the other room: <143 Perry Street (& Washington) 212 645 9753 - Dark, candle lit, relaxed, chill beer and wine bar.
Ear Inn
