qunqing

Hi guys, do you know what usually is the minimal slope degree required for skylights in NYC area? if we prefer the skylight as flat as possible. also, any manufacturer to recommend?
Thanks in advance!

skylights are who we spec. I don't think there is a "minimum" slope requirement. Obviously it would follow your roof profile, but the skylights themselves don't neccessarily have a slope requirement.

not exactly a skylight but this is a pretty nice product, that will work with any roof sytem/slope.

Thanks guys. We are more looking for the skylight application in a small public lobby space. The guy we contacted told us they need 4" per foot to shed snow and water..., this is just too steeper than what we expected.

Does anyone know a skylight manufacturer that makes irregularly shaped (non-rectangular) skylights. Circles? Ellipses?

It is not 4" to a foot. I am working on a skylight now which is 1/2" to a foot slope. I don't know how this is called out by the DOB but you can call them.

Velux actually makes a curb for low slope roofs.
