when u get here, make sure you get the underground local papers for the "manhattanite" events, not the touristy events. (the Press, for example- Village Voice, etc). tourists arent liked in manhattan. theyre considered annoying. get a list of all the different museums (DIA center for the Arts, Subway Museum, etc) not just MET, MOMA, madam Toussad's wax museum

DIA is closed for renovations. The upstate one is worth checking out if you have the time.
