Is anybody here participating in this competition? I'm not sure if we're doing something wrong, but it seems the site drawing, now posted 3 times, is still off scale? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I had a problem with CAD files like you Nick and many others, but have figured out the scale problem.
- area.dwg is drawn in 1:1
- in topographical map.dwg, you will see 3 drawings. Only one of them, which is named 'topographical map 2' has the scale, 1:1000.
How can I figured it out? First, in area.dwg, there is 1/3000(A4) at the right bottom of the drawing, meaning that if you set '1mm = 3000units' you can print it fitted into A4 size paper. So area.dwg is drawn 1:1. Then, despite no indication of scale in topographical map.dwg, I can find it by measuring the width of access road in cad drawing and comparing it with one measured in internet map service, which is quite reliable. If you can't sure about topographical map, just print both drawings in the same scale and compared with each other.
I wish my posting will be helpful, and all the best. :-)

Unfortunately the registration period has been closed, and the deadline is 16 July.
Thanks, delicrafts! What you suggested was what I originally did (i.e. the original area file was drawn 1:1)... what confused me was their recent posting of a new area file (area new_scale) which, I just figured out, is exactly 3000 times the size of the original site! What I'm not sure about is why they scaled the site x3000?

OK, good luck and let us know when the results are finalized...or better yet, someone please post it to the competition news.
