anyone know any good examples of SMALL (approx 3metre diameter) spherical buildings? any material at the minute . . . timber prefered (anyone know how small you can make a gridshell?).
i'm not familiar with any that small as you won't be able to do much in it because of the limited head height and foot print. it sound pretty unusable. will you be able to stand anywhere but in the center?
there are larger examples such as ledoux's above. there is also polshek's in nyc.
space will obviously be an issue but I see t as more a one man office wrapped around a seat in the middle maybe . . . just an enclosure more than a building.
its just finding a method to get such a tight radius.
Early Coop Himmelbau/ Wolf Blix did that sphere project that rolled down the street like a giant hamster ball. Also look at old, 1960’s AD magazines.

there is a small fountain project of olafur eliasson that's set in a sort of geodesic sphere that's pretty small...
