the unit system seems to have the effect that all the work looks like is has come from the same student - it all could have been drawn by the same hand.

the unit system...i agree with you. i think the m,ost professionally executed work was the unit 4 (dip) yet it was only the reworking of the mobius strip over and over again..are you associated in anyway with the school? desperately looking for some isights since i might be going there for dip...

I'll probably do my diploma there. Its a great school but its underfunded, it shuts at 21:00, the studios are way to small and it has no bar. Most students love it anyway, probably thanks to the staff. As you might know the last two RIBA Silver medals went to London Met. so the teaching has to be good.
The school has a unit system that allows for a spectrum of approaches to architecture but exept for Unit 4 the interest in warped surfaces is low.
Joking with the head of school as you pass him on the stairs is normal so the atmosphere in the school is quite relaxed with flat hierarchies. The elite architect is not looked upon as a great ideal for students.
For the strongest students there is a "free unit" where you can can create your own study plan (helped by the school) and get funding to find your own tutors from all over the world. (youd better be good)

yet again, gee, i dunno why gay people can take a gay joke and straight people can't..gay people joke about straight people all the time, and making a joke doesn't always mean homophobia. most of the time is the pc people who are the ones who'd never set foot in a gay bar or be able to talk naturally about relationships regardless of the sexes involved. well well well, i guess now you all feel like the heralds of justice in the world, so there ya go mum,today i made someone happy.
