Buy it. Best book an architecture out there (if you believe in Zumthor's work). He tells it how it is. Also, it is out of print (I do believe), so if you can find it, pick up a copy (same with the Zumthor monograph). People will pay good $$$ for these books
could be a second printing. Apparently, architecture books have around a 4 yr publishing span between printings. That is why when I see a book that I think I might like, I buy it (and the fact that I have no self control)
mdler-
it's not exactly a 4 yr span...
the print run for a typical architectural publication is 2500-4000 copies - if there is a sellout within two years (and it's a larger press) then it is often scheduled for reprint. mit is a good example - big sellers in hardcover get paper reprints, though some titles languish for years - the moca case study houses catalog comes to mind immediately. lars muller (the swiss publisher of "thinking architecture") has only republished 4 or 5 titles from his catalog of over 100, in large part due to heavy reorders from his distributors over the years (birkhauser, princeton architectural press and d.a.p.)
in other words, if you see a book and you like it, buy it. it won't be around tomorrow. at least not at the same price.
most architectural titles are never reprinted. ever.

Thoughts on Zumthor's Thinking Architecture
I was going to pick this up, is it well written or weak? Is it thought provoking and interesting?
Thanks
