basically i wanna do everything in my power to help my chance of getting into CCA, so i've decided that an interview would help (could it hurt?). im not sure what to expect, what they'll ask or anything.... could anyone that has had an interview at CCA or any other school please tell me about their experiences and share any tips.
The one school interview I had I came completely unprepared (i thought it was going to be more of a "what can you do for me" rather than a "what can I do for you".
Bring questions. If you're the type that puts everything in a sketchbook, write them in there. I had brought mostly a note taking sketchbook to a job interview and was asked to show it and had to politely decline, I wished I had brought the one with pretty pictures.
If they don't specifically ask to bring your portfolio, have a CV with you, it will be useful if they ask you the specifics. (such as what scholarships you have received and when. another thing I goofed on. interviewing is definitely a skill and a learning process).
No, an interview shouldn't hurt unless your completely socially inept and do your best BSing (er.. convincing) via portfolios and the like. Plus it's very good to get one on one time with someone from the acceptance committee.
Tell them you are in love with Zaha and then proceed to describe in detail each page of your sketchbook, which should be full of nude sketches of Zaha in different positions with a large cat (a house cat, but thrice the normal size).
Respond to any questions by playing with yourself, farting simultaneously if you can.
haha thanks for the replies. i think this interview is with an admissions person. its for CCA in SF, if anyone has any experience with them please let me know.
makes sure your portfolio is filled with tons of perspective sketchess and graphics...be able to explain w/confidence...they love confident cocky bullshiters...once you get in keep up this pace and you will do well..hell you may even be hired by one of your instructers...watch out for a few though make sure you keep a close eye on their company websitesss...the instructors are notorious for stealing students work
