Private loans in the USA

cypress

I have a massive amount of debt in private loans that paid for my architectural education in the USA (I'm a Canadian citizen). It appears that these cannot be consolidated in a beneficial manner as private loans can be. Does anyone know of any good way to best deal with this debt??

I know of two places that will consolidate private student loans: Wells Fargo and NextStudent. Wells Fargo has the better deal with no origination fees.

Thanks ... I'll look into it.

Do they lock in the interest rates in a similar manner to consolidating Federal loans??

Sallie Mae consolidated mine in such a way that dropped the interest rate several percentage points...

I know that Wells Fargo and NextStudent aren't able to lock in any rates, but I was told they stay about 7%
