i have 3 different pairs of cuff links, and i always get comments when i wear them...
however, i do have a hard time finding good french cuff shirts that aren't something my grandfather would wear (i.e. plain white, white with blue pinstripes, blue with white collar, etc.) i have a few plain black shirts, and a few bright color striped shirts that i wear cuff links with...
The jewelry is beautiful but it's hard to tell that it's concrete unless you look really closely - but that might be a good way to entice the chicks to get close to you: "Hey, these cufflinks are concrete, wanna see?..." I promise it will work on any archi-gurl you meet.
A note on cuff-links, though, in case you want to wear them: never wear cuff-links if you’re not wearing a jacket. Otherwise you’ll look like a pirate who forgot to hide his treasure.
True enough. Though almost all of my shirts have french cuffs, I almost always roll my sleeves when not wearing a jacket anyway, eliminating the need for cufflinks.
I've long debated the cuff-link-and-no-jacket look. I have come around and started doing it myself, provided that the cuff-lunks are very low-key. Anything too garrish does look pirate-like. (I too like the silk knots, although one pair fell apart yesterday while I was wearing them. I could have used the emergency links yesterday.) And yes, speaking of pirates, I do have a pair of links with the skull and crossbones on them.
I have about five shirts with french cuffs, all are rather dressy. (I should note that none have a white collar and a different colored shirt body, thankfully.) Of the less dress, my favorite is a white shirt with thin black stripes.
Let the metrosexual inside out, let it shine baby. Yeah I have a couple cuffs links - my favourite ones which i bought from lil' old lady right after I climbed Teohetican...I was inspired to buy alot of crap that day. but they are really nice, sterling silver oval shaped thats it, keep it simple stupid!
I have a few cufflinks. They really do make a fashion statement, and the ladies notice them all the time. They're great ice-breakers. Here's one of the pairs that I own:
I got these from CuffSmart.com. The malls were really expensive and these guys have the same cufflinks for less than half the price. If you're like me (frugal), then you'd like their prices and selection.
cuff links
stoggy or stylish?
let's hear your thoughts.
classic good taste
unless they are ugly
It gets the girls I know all hot and bothered.
Not that I wear them, mind you....
But definitely stylish. Unless they're ugly.
very stylish...

paul smith
I wear a great pair from the 1970's that my dad gave me.
And driftwood I get all hot and bothered when I wear them, too ;-) Though perhaps they make the men around me feel threatened.
there as a company mentioned a while back in the engagement/wedding ring thread that made some nice cufflinks, can't remember the name though.
stylish...but must be tasteful
all silver or with subtle patterns and color
I love silk knots.
Kind of school boyish but I love the forrmality of the cufff link notion with the looseness and color of silk knots.
Pixelwhore, are you talking about these guys:
konzuk stainless steel and concrete jewelry
One of my contractors just got a ring from them for Christmas - it's really cool.
i like how the designs look in photographs...but i wonder how good it'll look on a person. guess i have to take your word for it liberty bell
Thanks LB, I knew someone would remember it.
Those are the ones, right up my personal aesthetic alley...

Where is French in this discussion?!?
the concrete and stainless is briliant..
i wear french cuff shirts about 50% of the time... ..
Banana republic has been doing very tasteful things with their cufflinks as of late...
as for purchasing tasteful french cuff shirts:
in addition to paul smith I would add thomas pink
and it too has been my experience that the females enjoy a man in french cuffs...
it ain't no thing if it ain't got that bling
All my shirts are now cufflinked up for maximum style.
I used these credit card punched emergency ones several times last year.
i would just use a stainless steel machine screw and a bolt
Stylish for sure...But they look best when you are wearing a suit.
Half the shirts at Kenneth Cole and B. Republic have French Cuffs these days...
definitely stylish....but i agree, it's hard to find good french cuff shirts.
as we all know very well, stylish/ugliness is all relative...
i even wear them without a suit from time to time, usually in place of a tie.
I read this on The Morning News a while back:

hi everyone,
I am a newbie here.
I think cuff links is very stylish and catches the attention of many.
Good day!
its really all about the pocket square in 2006...
I rarely dress up enough to wear them, but when I do, I get nice comments ;)

5 years later, i'm bumping this thread because I just got these in the mail:
purchased for my upcoming wedding, from an artist in Detroit via Etsy.
these cost more than my [titanium] ring!
these work.
