Going abroad for work without language skill. is it possible?

eethanh

Hello guys. It's my first post in Archinect. :)

I'm b.arch and working architcture firm in korea. I wanna find chances to go abroad for my career. But, my language skill is not enough. I know that easiest way to live in another country is studying there.. Anyway, can i have chances to get a job? What do you think about it?

I cannot understand much of what 25% of the staff here says, so, must be possible.

In the uK to get a work or student visa you must meet a min language requirement tested as IELTS [i think its 5.5 across all scores but to get in a grad school it is generally higher about 7.0 overall - generally that is the min score you should try for.]

Guessing the US its the same.

your best bet would be finding a practice working in Korea that is from the country you wish to work in and approach them [the Korean Office] - higher chance of getting a visa as they need your 'specialist language skills'
