I am interested in Mariachi music and culturel space's. I live in Los Angeles were Mariachi music and Hispanic cultural is very popular. Living in Los Angeles, CA, and being of Mexican descent, I have always been interested in the way is whaich mexican culture is expressed within the us. One of the key Mechanisms for culture-building is the cultural center', which is particularly important for a Mexican audience(social connections are very important in Meico). Such a center coould be based on a variety of premises, such as food, religion, or even commercial activity. Yet Mexico culture is so much more 'poetic' than that , and there is much that could be designed around a 'basic' idea, such as Mariachi music (or even one perticular musical instrument or garment) i wounder if such as idea is too simplistic?
