I'm looking for a software which will create blueprints for home design. Something that might be a level above an amateur but perhaps not with as steep a learning curve as an expensive suite (like AutoCAD).
Is there anything like that?
I'm a designer by trade (TV graphics and web) with an art school background, so I am familiar with computer graphics. But I'm not an architect. This is more about fun / experimenting.
try google Sketchup Pro. You can download a trial for free online. And it comes with Sketchup Layout, which is the program you want for making 2D drawings. It's pretty basic.
