but not none of them would be more interesting than Architecture, just really close seconds. Music maybe, but it's probably the only one that takes longer than Architecture
physics or maybe creative writing. but i got into architecture in the first place because it was basically a composite of a milion different things i was interested in. i'm academically fickle.
advertising - be creative and make tons of money, not to mention actually having a noticable impact on society (not necessarily good, of course, but the power is there)
real estate developer ... 'cause you get to hire and direct the architect and, if you have half a brain and are willing to manage risk, you can make some serious money at the same time you're having a positive impact on the communities in which we live ...
the fact that so many developers don't have a positive impact on their community doesn't mean that i (we) would go down that same road
Whoops, that was me, posting on beatledud's computer. I think he would be interested in custom car building. Actually I don't think, I know, he just told me.
Someone who works with teenagers - but not a high school counselor because they are resoundingly hated by the entire student body. Plus they don't make any money. So maybe life coach for wealthy people. I like to be helpful.
This has morphed from "what would you rather pursue" to "what would you rather be."
Ditto on ninja and backcountry guide.
I did undergrad in creative writing and spent time in journalism, and I have to disagree with most careers focused on writing, except for maybe foreign correspondent, in which case I'd rather be a photographer anyhow.
I'd also add:
- Jazz Musician or Rock Star (note that I'd be happy making a living as a jazz musician, but for rock, I'd need to be famous)
- Flyfishing guide (haven't given up on this one or backcountry or mountaineering guide just yet ... someday maybe)
- Lonely Planet or Global Trekker correspondent
- Pro mountain-biker or adventure racer
Driftwood .... don't be embrassed I did both degrees, Landscape first as a matter of fact, got registered in both and have never been embrassed by promoting both, got many a job because of it. My office does both and its pretty satisfying.
I haven't seen a lot of people discussing how satifisfied they are in their job on this site, have you?
I often make bold statements. I'm rather well-read, especially concerning Grisham and Clancy, and in my over-educated opinion, yes, they are popularist crap.
And it's landscape architect, jackass. You'd do well to learn the difference.
