question: letter of recommendation

shhhh

Say I get a letter of recommendation from a current faculty member at my grad school of choice. do you think it guarantees acceptance or simply negates my terrible grade in structures?

also, had to change my name for this one. publishing grad topics like this scares me. has anyone else received a letter of rec from someone teaching at xyz university? I wonder how many applicants have insiders. ahhh!
i have so much more to do!

rec letters won't guarantee anything, they can only help. not quantifiable.

How respected is that professor in his university?
If he is an asshole maybe they won't pay attention.
I think they are also looking for a variety of views on your letters of rec. So Im sure they would appreciate to get letter from outside the institution.
Now, if you worked for OMA and Rem is writing to Hravard, I would say that would help.
not enough info....
