I checked some of the local venues, i would defintely love to see a show while I'm there. Know of any good venues up there? The trouble is, most of the bands form Montreal are getting so big, they're all out touring right now. Stars are touring with death cab, i think the arcade fire is in Europe now.

The Canadian Centre for Architecture has great shows/exhibits and resources. Not to be missed for an archinect visiting the city.

atelier big city was the only architecture firm I'd ever set foot in before I got my first job in the real world.
pretty sad that is what I had to go on, thought maybe they were all like that (how naive!) , thought I was in the best career ever. their studio and work is great, great people as well.

Montreal a has a lot of new building...

Check out
Grande Bibliotheque du Quebec, just opened, from Patkaus

Quartier INternational with the Palais des Congres (colorful) and the Caisse de Placement (corporate ultra-chic with colossal slick main-hall)

Between these 2 buildings, don't miss the Fog + Fire show at the Riopelle Plaza featuring a great sculpture from Jean Paul Riopelle...a legendary artist. I think the show starts at the 10th minute of each hour.

Watch out the Campuses of the 4 universities of the City... UQUAM, MC Gill, Concordia and Université de Montréal, they all have new buildings from Montreal ''star-architects'' (Saia Barbarese+ Topouzanov, Saucier+Perotte, Dan Hanganu)

Have a look at Place VIlle-Marie, Montreal's highest tower by I.M. Pei...a classic of International Style.

Don't miss the Olympic Stadium with it's Tower...and try to figure out how they did this in the 70' without any computers...(World's tallest inclined tower)

Go to Parc Jean Drapeau to have a look at Buckminster's Fuller Geodesic Dome from the 1967 International Fair

Enjoy Plateau Mont-Royal and Rue St-Denis for it's nice architecture and trendy shops + bistro and café and French canadian cachet

Go out on St-Laurent Street for hippest clubs
(Skip Crescent Street as far as I am concern, it's too wannabe)

Old-Montreal is amazing
Check out Pointe-a-Calliere Museum
