Currently I am working on a competition and am looking for prescedents in sustainable design that are progressive and work at a large scale. Anyone have any suggestions? i.e. Any sustainable new settlements? developments? or Mix use buildings? or a Webpage with very good, succinct, and free information? All Ideas or references are welcomed.
but until then...
Cal. Academy of Sciences, SF, Renzo Piano
Gap Building, Bill McDunough
Herman Miller HQ , Bill McDunough ??
New York Times Office, Renzo Piano
stuff by Kiss + Cathcart
He's done a whole load of sustainable housing developments here in the UK, most notably BedZED. Plus I noticed in the BD this week that he's looking for Part II and newly qualified Part III students.
Currently designing / building an Eco-house from straw bails. There are a couple of exemplars in West Wales and Devon / Cornwall but the original experts are in Nebraska.
This book is very good for general eco reference - new edition.

Or was I too vague in my post?
We have featured a bunch of sustainable-oriented projects at Land+Living... check out the Green category, etc.
While we don't tend to feature a ton of original information or content, we do provide links to good info that we have found. Hope this is helpful...
Oh... and of course there are the Sustainability links right here at Archinect.
check out the book Green Architecture...
