Austin Firms

Nick Scalco

I know this topic has been discussed before, but searching the new discussions (and firms/links section) yielded 0 results.
I'm looking for small (5-10 people) "design" firms in/around Austin, Texas. I specifically remember a design/ build firm published a while back, but can't relocate the link.
I know this is rather general, but I'm trying to get a feel for the scene down there.

i know a guy that is "negotiating" with a firm in austin called foda or moda--something like that. i know that he won't get the job(have seen his work and it is really offensive). have heard that it is a pretty cool firm though

thanks for the links, mwad!
krdb was the firm I was thinking of...
how long have you been in Austin? How do you like the scene?

I've found a few more to add to the list:

MJ Neal Architect [/url]
Team Haas Architects (can't seem to find a website)

Nick, I was born here in Austin so I have been around the area for quite a while now. The architecture scene seems to always be growing here, with a number of younger firms emerging lately. Overall Austin is becoming more and more design oriented with new boutiques opening all the time. I have to get to work ;), but email me if you have any specific questions about Austin. Here is another good small firm I forgot:

www.bcarc.com <---former MJ Neal workers, very cool work, it may be design build

Foda see: www.fodagroup.com gave a presentation up here at TTU this past spring. They have some really great graphic design stuff and are currently trying to break into the design market. Most of their work to date has been contest boards and presentation media for other firms.

Good luck in Austin... The average intern pay there is next to nothing.
