Does British Architecture have an Identity?

LayingOutTheDots*

What is the first thing that comes into your head when you think of British architecture? Is there a particular building/ space/ city which you feel represents British architecture? Does British architecture have an identity? Or would you associate it with European architecture? Do you feel British architecture was stronger throughout history or is it strongest now?

It would be interesting to hear your views on this.
