can anyone share how your office organizes a folder full of details. Currently, our office categorizes them under:
-Door
-Foundation
-Framing
-Flooring
-Roof
-Wall
-Partition
-Windows
but i'm trying to find out the best way to organize the details within those categories...we have them just all over the place...and if anyone can share some naming techniques...etc...thanks
hello.
the place i'm at this summer organizes their library mostly by vendor name. in their library room, they have tons of binders and chains of samples. in general, we follow what you just listed above but our library has less categories because the office is associated with interiors. so then under each category each vendor is put into alphabetical order.
the key thing about organizing details and samples is keeping them up to date. so this summer we re-organized and purged all the old stuff and also made sure to label and date everything we kept so they got replaced when new samples come in.
there was so much junk in there.
