i live out on the island now but i was born in NYC and i spent most of my child-hood there-------and many of my nights, the Lower east side is where it's at
anotherquestion - i love the fort! actually just took over an affordable lease in the east village today, so moving to 10th/A setemper 1. i will miss fort greene, but believe it or not my new spot is cheaper.
soleil - thanks! it was just good timing - decided to stay here on the east coast on monday and got an email about a friend's studio lease on wenesday...
hoboken, huh? faster train ride than living in astoria or parts of brooklyn, no?
anotherquestion - gotta love the D train, right? 14 min from altantic avenue to west 4th street. that is half the time of the 2,3, or the C.
by the way if you like the D train you will love the M train. It only runs for a few hours during the day but it is always empty and can get from Park Slope to Chinatown in less then 10 minutes.
I live in the east 30s, but planning on moving to park slope or prospect heights soon. I am considering making the jump to ownership so it takes some time to find an amazing, huge apartment in a great location for very little money.
yeah i used t0 live right off the JMZ line..it's like time travel to ride it.
i've gotta say there's nothing quite as interesting as the characters on the JMZ during my commute these days...just very angry bed stuy/east new yrok residents on the AC...
