I'll have to go get some photographs later but yes they are recladding currently and progressing at a pretty good rate. Some parts of the building appear to be finished and awaiting the final aluminum panels. These portions are a dark primer grey, similar to an untextured computer model, which is quite interesting to look at.
Nice Picture iamzane... and mdler, I am pretty sure that we had a little something to do with helping the destruction along I am still surprised that your Jose Garcia mock up did not make the grand stair collapse.
DAAP renovation
Have they started the reclad yet? Do any current DAAPers have pictures that they can post?
Well this post is almost a year old but yep, they started about 6 months ago, maybe?
And this is what it looks like... AKA really attractive. Some of it's been started and some of it hasn't but I don't think any of it's done yet.
(not sure if this image is going to show up or not.. http://i.imgur.com/PX7Bn.jpg)
they're re-building the whole damn thing! I was there 97-03, and it was amazing to see how quickly that thing fell apart.

Some might say the building has never loomed better.
