gosh. no takers huh? then lets expand and expound.
if you had to communicate your design intent as a music video (not music/video) which would you choose? i once particularly associated myself with a couple of tool music videos... parabola, lateralus especially. surrealist consciousness. otherwise, pyramid song is a pure classic music video.
granted, in general, mostly only "corp" bands have mv's, but that too is changing. as architects and music fans, it just seems to me that we might be interested in critical interpretation of the visual manifestation of music...
heterarchy, I don't know which song it was, but there was a Tool video back awhile that had a Jan Svenkmayer/stop motion puppet look to it. I heard the song on the radio today, by coincidence. That was an awesome video.
I caught the last half of I Am Trying to Break Your Heart in a hotel room once. Beautiful.
have def dug several wilco things before, will check out 'i am trying'... sounds appropriate tonight.
i remember that the first porno i ever saw was in a hotel room when i was a kid on vacation with my parents. just turned on the tv to watch snl while everyone else was asleep, and there it was. "whoa". turned the toob away from everyone else and just sat there and watched. circa 12 yrs old.
i'm a huge radiohead fan, but haven't seen go to sleep... wco.
i just love the little milk carton guy. and then i'm so happy for him when he meets the sweet strawberry milk girl. and then she dies. and it's really really sad. but all ends well and milk carton guy gets drank by lost boy on carton (ultimate milk carton fulfilment?) and then meets strawberry milk girl in heaven. it's great.
I'll have to second vado's picks, mostly for the good music and cute boys---kotche, tweedy, stirrat, and the scene where jay bennett talks some shit about "every circle having a center"....man, you know he has to regret saying that. I also like the intro of Glen as the new drummer for them. I could watch and listen to that guy all day long.
I'll add No Direction Home---if you have 3 and a half hours to remind yourself how much of a badass Dylan became so quickly.....amazing---I can't remember if it was also in Don't Look Back but there is a scene in NDH where a photographer asks Dylan to suck on the end of his sunglasses and instead Dylan sticks his sunglasses in the photographer's mouth for a little demo. Hilarious.

go to sleep (little man being erased) video by radiohead
"stop making sense" was already called. it's totally the best "music film" ever. Although "Purple Rain" rules pretty hard.

i guess that's doesn't have much to do with my design intent.

Music scene by Blockhead is mind-blowing. It's an acid trip in youtube form.
