Going to Portland Oregon for a wedding this summer and I think that the city rocks non stop(never been before). Is there anything that I shouldn't miss? Any firms that are worth checking out? Is the city as cool as I think(I mean is it liveable, walkable etc...)?
there have been quite a few posts on this already, check out the archives. As far as firms, Allied, Colab, and Holst are good from what i have seen (no particular order).
things to do in portland:
drive a subaru
stand on a corner getting people to sign your petition
complain about republicans
bike everywhere
feel safe talking to strangers
act alternative
go to a "festival" at tom mccall park
go to first thursday
wear shorts in winter with socks and tevas

yes, I work here in portland. I think there are some other portlanders on here too.
meliasonvt: check your archinect email, boy...
pencrush: you sometimes sorta sound like a guy i go to school with here at PSU. but i see you went to school elsewhere...
lol. how do I "sound" like someone you go to school with? no, unlike most people working in the city, I've never been to school in oregon.
Go to the new bar/club Doug Fir right off Burnside on the East Side:

Hike in the Gorge and on Mt. Hood. McMenamin's theaters have cheap movies and beer to drink while you watch.
If you are into good brew be sure to check out the myriad of micro brews in town.
