Enjoy Paris! I didn't do Arch School the right way, didn't go to Paris & didn't go back for the MArch. It's no lie, once you get out of undergrad, if you don't go straight into a MArch program, it gets difficulter, & difficulter.
Either way, though, I like to think that through my wierd-axx work experience after GT I increase my appreciation & grasp of Architecture on a daily basis. Crazy, crazy career, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
Oh by the way, I recall that a lot of my counterparts that did go to Paris came back ragging on the program. I never believed that those who said they didn't like it really tried to understand the opportunity they had. From the griping I heard maybe you can avoid their mistakes: 1) They spent too much time in much closer quarters with each other because THEY were the foreigners, thus they got on each other's nerves, 2) Most did not bother to learn the language, thus they really wated their time & money - you ain't gotta speak French good (GT grammar), but you should at least try. That's true w/ any country you visit. Sorry if you already know this stuff. 3) They didn't take enough time o play hookey from Lab & go travel to say, the Alps & go skiing, or to Amsterdam & go eat a Royale w/ Cheese. Basically, they just didn't put the right effort into it.
Not that I'm an expert, but if you ever have questions, gimme a holler. Sometimes I was so hell-bent on 'getting outta there' that I forget how interesting it really was at that school.
Best of luck on that final year, it'll be your best.
hmm... well. it definately has its quirks, but overall I'd say in the time I have been here they have really made steps forward. recent hiring has helped improve the quality of the faculty, and studios and work quality are really starting to be watched closer to make it harder for slackers to float through. There are some really great prof here, but like anything you get out what you put in. just seems in my year(5th) there is a pretty hefty amount of people who dont put too much in. oh and the financial aid department sucks ass. any other specific questions, just ask.
its funny how no one from top schools felt the need to drop names. i wonder why that is? And if you are going to degrade yourself to cheerleading then could you start being a bit more creative with your cheers.
