I usually end up getting an actual image of a car (using Google's magic) and tracing it--either by hand or on the computer--as it's easier to get what I want that way and it's usually quicker and more productive.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any sites that provide a service like this. Manufacturer websites are good places to look--sometimes they have the type of technical images you noted.
