first: hooray for louisville's vhs or beta! it's about time that this great music town exported on of our own. (well, ok. my morning jacket made it first.)
second: i have to admit that i like the lineup...and that's not a good thing for lollapalooza. see, i'm old. and so many of these bands are from my heyday. in fact, a lot of them have been broken up SINCE my heyday and have just reunited (e.g., dinosaur jr, pixies, digable planets...). and though i love billy idol, weezer, cake, g.love, and liz phair - what's up with the kids? where is the new stuff? isn't this thing s'posed to be EDGY?! is perry farrell an exec at clear channel now or something?
Well, I did see a twelve year-old kid yesterday with a LED ZEPPELIN shirt on. I think they are digging the old stuff these days (in between Gangsta rap binges). I just Hope they have enough beer flowing to satisfy the huge crowd on a 90 degree day. Could get UG-LY.
I saw Blonde Redhead when there were here with Interpol and I'd say it easily ranks as the worst live performance I've ever seen. From the looks on the faces of the members of Interpol who were watching from a balcony above, they thought so too.

max capacity 10,000 people per day=$95 per day....
last year the festival drew 70,000!
if i weren't such a snob i would pass off my dislike as being a little ochlophobic. the quality of perfomances at the festivals i've been at was severely lacking...and it's just like, too much to possibly really take in.
so no other towns in the country are having shows then?
teagan and sara are good too. identical twin sister lesbians.
did you see the lineup for the james dean festival?
the fifth dimension
hermans hermits
gary puckett
that ain't bad stephanie. I really like Tortoise, the Fourtet, and am a big fan of Beans. Saw him live opening up for the Rapture in a tiny 100 person room. Amazing Show.
this intonation fest is very affordable!

Lollapalooza '05
Who's Going?
What Do You Think Of The Lineup?
Will It Be As Cool As The Others?
What Do You Think About The Venue?
Etc.?.....
do ppl still go to it? wasn't it cancelled last year or the year before due to poor ticket sales.
I haven't Been Since The First Two, But This One Appeals To Me:
Lollapalooza

is it only in chicago or is it touring?
i hear ya steven.
There is plenty of new(er) stuff:
Blonde Redhead
The Killers
. . . And you will know us, etc . . .
And others, but I am not too familiar with the others.
Sick ass lineup though. Digable Planets! Billy Idol! Liz Phair (don't like her music all that much, but she is pretty attractive) . . .
looks like it is only in Chicago . . .
hmm what am I doing July 23-24th? Wish I lived in Chicago, I would totally volunteer.
Steven.....saw VHS twice.....pretty good...less like Robert Smith on live performance
I saw Blonde Redhead when there were here with Interpol and I'd say it easily ranks as the worst live performance I've ever seen. From the looks on the faces of the members of Interpol who were watching from a balcony above, they thought so too.
