Hyperthreading is good for multitasking and overall system responsiveness, but won't do much for 3D rendering speeds.
If you're getting a laptop get a centrino system - it may not be the most powerful but they run cool and quiet, if you need more power throw together at dedicated rendering box.
Hyper-Threading?
Which system is best for 3D Studio MAX?
I have heard that HT technology is best..but what about M-processor, and Centrino?
Your input would be greatly appreciated, since I am need of a new computer I will need your opinions.
Thank you very much!

... If you use final render it renders at double speed using HT...
Dual P4 Xeon's with hyperthread on gives you 4 processors for rendering in Max.
punky - you are way wrong - have you ever rendered in Max with dual xeons?
