two years undergrad, left school, discovered architecture and loved it.

now....

1. go back to undergrad and complete b.a. english? then get m.arch?

OR

2. stay at pcc, complete associates degree in architecture, and apply to b.arch schools?

what is pcc?
first impression is to finish your english degree. but this sort of thread pops up a lot, and the answer is always ulitmately 'do what's right for you'. seems like a cop out answer, but it's the most honest one.

It depends on how good the community college is. Ask them for stats about those that did the program and continued on to a reg arch program. If it's good, and some are (one of the most talented designers I've met started t his way), but most aren't worth the time.

Finishing your eng degree won't help too much, unless you have some unique things. I'd think about switching the major to include more visually creative fields, like art, sculputre, etc., and add in a good mix of business classes. That way you'd be well rounded going into a MArch. At the very least, take a bunch of these classes, they always help.

An associate degree in architecture doesn't usually transfer well into B.Arch programs. You can expect that most B.Arch programs will want to place you in 2nd year (sophomore) studios regardless of what coursework you did in the associate program. So in the long run you'd probably be looking at 4 more years of school just to get the B.Arch.
