Robert Polidori is the epitome of the big statement architectural photography style but I just worked with Adrian Wilson in NYC and he shot 50 really cool shots in a day, didn't even use a single light and showed me every shot on color polaroid before he took it!
He does great work. I helped set up some photo shoots and learned alot from him. Understand why and how the work looks different when it's photographed versus being there in person...
Why photograph buildings when you can photograph a rose or a beautyful women. The whole point of buildings is to outlast their creators. Photographing a thing that will be there well past your death is a sort of extremely kinky activity - - - yes?
maccman: no joke, just answering your question. "Who is your favorite Arch photographer?" You might not agree, so be it, but making him look ridiculous is pathetic.
ps. spelling check suggest to change maccman into madman =)
Rutger,
I am not making him look ridiculous, I am giving my opinion of his work.
If all the photographers listed above (well the living ones anyway) presented their work to you and all charged the same amount, would you really choose Liao Yusheng to shoot your project?

I like Michael Moran's stuff, even though his web page doesn't work with Firefox.
Ezra Stoller and Julius Schulman.
Schulman's CSH #22 are legendary. (I got to go there a few weeks ago)
Stoller's TWA photos are classic.
Preferably living ones we would like to commission.....
is a force to be reckoned

gil garcetti.

wow, todd hido's work is pretty amazing.
while looking at it i couldn't help but think todd is thomas kincaid's melancholic aetheist sibling...

Come on, you have got to be joking to add this person to the list!

I just picked up a copy of Karl Lagerfeld's "Vitra House - Tadao Ando" ...beautiful book as a whole.
