I'm looking to get the jump on some of these tools before I start class in late February. Where have you found good resources, tutorials, books, etc for teaching yourself how to become proficient with these bad boys?
Community college is a good place to learn autocad. Don't forget about photoshop and illustrator. I wouldn't worry about Revit just yet. You need to know a little about how a house or building is constructed to use Revit well.
Coming in to arch from communication design so I've worked with creative suite for a long while. I'll take a look into courses offered in my city for CAD, though. Thanks.
Digital Toolbox and Design Reform for sure, Toolbox has a better set of tutorials for beginners... McNeel also has a lot of good information on their Vimeo page :
The Revit Kid has some good videos, but unfortunately they are poorly organized and hard to pick up for a beginner (unless I am missing something about the experience of the site, in which case, please elaborate!) There isn't much of a narrative to the order in which you view the tutorials.
There are a huge number of videos that are available on the Autodesk YouTube channel for learning their software, as well as on the Autodesk Education site where you can download the software for free if you have a .EDU e-mail address.
1. The only mods I'd do to it is the weld shortcut is weld. I had forgotten that I changed it on my computer.
2. You should know about the psltscale command that you should setup to 0 on every layout to make the line styles match the layout. However, this could be mitigated by other ways and methods depending on your preference.
Michael Bergin, my site is a blog not a website so the posts have not relative order. There is a link at the top to view all the tutorials and simply scroll through them... I suggest using the search bar at the top right. It will pick up any keywords about any tutorials I have...
The blog slowly took form as I kept posting over the years and I would like to categorize the tutorials one day but there are over 200 tutorials and even more tips so the search button is your best bet.
Best resources for learning Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, etc.

lynda.com is a great website for learning these and other software.
some other free sites are:
http://designreform.net/category/tutorials/
http://digitaltoolbox.info/ (rhino and grasshopper)
www.TheRevitKid.com
Shameless plug.... But I do have over 200 video tutorials for free!
For Revit, I would say that the best resource out there right now is at the BIM Curriculum :
http://bimcurriculum.autodesk.com/exercise/exercise-111-modeling-exterior-and-interior-walls is an example video.

AutoCAD can be best learned at CadTutor.net
