Buying text books for college...

sb080

I was going to hold off on buying text books until I started the semester. But, now I am wondering if I should just buy it right away. I have 10 days till school starts and I don't know how things work at NYIT. Books cost a lot of money and I don't really want to have to spend more than I need to. As if going to school in manhattan isn't expensive enough already. If anyone knows anything about buying books for NYIT architecture classes or has any suggestions or a guide to buying books, please let me know.

I don't have information pertaining particularly to NYIT but buying textbooks on Amazon is MUCH cheaper than buying them at the bookstore, sometimes (most times actually) they are also cheaper than the used copies. I know for many of my history/theory courses professors provide pdf's that they feel are more relevant to course material. From my experience, the "required" text becomes supplemental and can be accessed at the library for reference. I would definitely wait.
