The last minute MArch acceptance...

CatG

So I applied to three schools this year, got wait listed and slowly watched each program fill up. In the mean time I made plans to go back to my old university to boost my gpa, find a job in an architecture firm, and make a kick ass portfolio for next year.

Then late last week I get an email from what I was considering to be my safety school saying that they'd offer me a spot in their program. It starts in 2 weeks, and requires me to move halfway across the country.

Is it crazy to consider this? I worry that trying to make the arrangements of finding a place to live last minute, packing, and moving there will burn me out before I even start a program that wasn't even my preferred choice.

Before I heard this news I had spent much time reflecting on how many schools I applied to / what I submitted, and I had made a plan for how to approach the next round of applications. But waiting a year is by no means a guarantee that I will get into a school...Argh!

I personally think it's really rude when schools are this disorganized/manipulate students in this way.  However, if you want to go back to school and don't feel like waiting, I don't think 2 weeks is too short to do what you need to do.  Just start right now and you will be fine.
