I'm a college grad in another discipline. I'm taking some classes in residential design at a local Art Institute.
I want to get a March. What should I include in terms of a portfolio? How important is my undergrad G.P.A.? Test scores?
The portfolio is the most important part of your application. It must be well-designed, graphically pleasing and displays only your best work. Make it 3-5 projects or works, and no more than 20-25 double page or 40 single page. Buy Harold Linton's book "Portfolio Design", it's the best there is.
GPA; as long as your GPA is over 3.0 you're ok. GRE not important as long as you're above 1200. And write a good statement of intent, be specific and clear about your goals and abilities and consult someone who's good at writing essays.
Good Luck

Type "graduate school," "MArch," "GPA," etc, etc in the search bar and you will get a ton of threads.
