(small) Architecture Galleries?

Mason White

Does anyone know of any good small-ish galleries in the US specializing in exhibitions on architecture, landscape, and urban design?

I am seeking another venue for the exhibition currently at OSU

the ones i have come up with so far are:
urban center (nyc)
van alen (nyc)
design institute (minneapolis)

any others?

If you don't mind hiking up the border, there's the
Eric Arthur gallery in Toronto, by the university.

You also might like to speak to Alan if the LA Forum for Architecture and Urban Design would be interested.

I'll ask around - but like Sgt. Schultz from Hogan's Heroes - I know nothing!

Mason a few of the archinecters for a SF discussion said that you might try:

www.aiasf.org

But I think the best bet for SF would be:

i wouldn't say it has a focus on architecture or urbanism, but it regularly hosts architectural work: ICA Philadelphia

scale ranges from a big greg lynn-curated group show to 1 room of local firm Kieran Timberlake's research work.

other Philadelphia possibilities (even though they mostly focus on art) might be: 222 Gallery (run by Otto Design Group) or maybe Space 1026.

suyama space, in seattle, is not a gallery for architecture, but it is a gallery curated by architects. their gallery focuses on mostly large scale installations >>

limn gallery in San Franscisco is small, but rather chic.

also, there is M&A (I think that's the name...) in LA, max protech in NY, and Howard House in Seattle. the seattle AIA also has a gallery space.

mason -

actually, if you're eager to get to atlanta, try the museum of design (a small museum downtown). they focus on architecture, furniture, and related non-fine arts type work. i'm working with them on an architecture exhibit for the spring and they are doing a traveling show on paul rudolph's florida houses this fall. email and i'll give you the contacts to talk to.

good luck.
