I think spelling bee champion is awesome - and if you didn't like it you would not give him/her so much attention by starting a thread about him/her - so I say ban 3ifs!!!
Thanks for taking the bait SBC...I actually appreciate your efforts and sarcasm. As a matter of generality, our profession does have a significant spelling problem. So anyone who stems this tide is ok by me.
fakeid ... please consult the MLA guide for proper citation protocol. Quotes from screenplays or movies (i.e. Fight Club) are afforded their own type of citation.
i like SBC. architectural websites, portfolios, journals, papers, etc. lose credibility when they contain typos. verbal and visual skills are BOTH important for architects. personally, I would prefer SBC to become Grammar Bee Champion. I attended to a very progressive primary school system and didnt learn what adverbs and such were until i started playing mad libs in fifth grade. i dont know what a split infinitive is. any verbal skills i have were garnered through reading and intuition, i guess.
Does not poor grammer and gradual accepting of common vernacular parralel a sort of darwinian mutative, naturally selective process by wich langauges ultimately advance?
me think'et that SBC is someone else in disquise as SBC is only a member as of 1 april.........and SBC knows too much about us all by our post [we have probably been pissing him/her off for some time with our bad typing.spelling]
dont blame me....i dont like this 6 pt font[which i blame on my spelling/disfelxic nature]n on archinect
ban SPELLING BEE CHAMPION
i don't think we need someone on here correcting our lousy spelling... who's with me?
what?
generally, it's kind of difficult to restrain somebody from saying something in an open forum.
i think you split your infinitive and dangled your participle there...
i sceond..hrere here!
I think spelling bee champion is awesome - and if you didn't like it you would not give him/her so much attention by starting a thread about him/her - so I say ban 3ifs!!!
Bula ... "second" as opposed to "sceond", "here" as opposed to "hrere."

word
hey champ :::
a comma should always be enclosed in quotes when following a quote ... "sceond," instead of "sceond",
see here
buuuurrrrn...
live by the sword...die by the sword.
lifeform ... the featured link does not use proper MLA citation nor Bluebook/University of Chicago formats.
Bula ... it's "burn" as opposed to "buuuurrrrn"
yo champ :
MLA does not publish online, but its in there, buddy.
so face it, grammar is not your calling.
stick to your sad spelling corrections.

spelling bee champion - most amusing really, but I understand the sentiment in wishing to eliminate him/her!
joed, it is an open forum, but it is an open forum about architecture. i have yet to see any posts by SBC that provide any relevant content.
that being said, this thread is turning out to be pretty funny. humor is an important component of archinect.
teh argmunet abuot thrdeas rleating to achritetcure deosn't hlod waetr...archinect blogs rarley do...

i'm rooting for silent approval robot
3ifs, we correct/crit/comment on everything else why not spelling? and there are alot of threads here that have nothing to do with architecture.
e, you mean like this thread? ;)
everyone is taking this way too seriously... GOSH.
hey 3ifs, SBC is just trying to make a mark...its his one claim to fame...let him have it!! you go SBC!!
grammer and spelling are way overrated.
sherlock is my friend.
so what happens when SBC meets Per?
match made in heaven
i'm jack's spelling error. i'm jack's typo.
fakeid ... please consult the MLA guide for proper citation protocol. Quotes from screenplays or movies (i.e. Fight Club) are afforded their own type of citation.
sbc...i don't think those are actual quotes...just statements that
are similar to those made in the movie...so do they still
get quotes?
SBC versus Per? I'm willing to guess that someone's head will explode...

who is Per?
Per Corell a.k.a the 3D-honeycomb guy.
Am I the only one who thinks 'small block chevy' everytime I read 'SBC'?
I also think SBC might be somebody else's alter ego.
Does not poor grammer and gradual accepting of common vernacular parralel a sort of darwinian mutative, naturally selective process by wich langauges ultimately advance?
Ever read old english? messed up. words have changed spellings, does this mean you should misspell? I think not. It looks funny.
i really, really like to spell words correctly. doesn't it just read better? it's lazy not to.
i learned to spell by reading so much when I was a kid.
bad grammar is bad,
but not-so-perfect grammar is definitely acceptable.
SPELLING BEE CHAMPION:
Please remember to capitalize the word "Please."
In addition, please try to conjugate complete sentences when you write.

[,,,,,,and its not ADA approved!!]
SBC reminds me of the telephone company, SBC.
Ever read US english? messed up. words have changed spellings, does this mean you should misspell? I think not. It looks funny.
I withdraw my support for banning SPELLING BEE - he/she made a fool of our simple friend evilplatypus, so that's fine by me.
SBC, I'm new to this site altogether and I must say that you are hilarious!
