APPLOAD>Flatten.lsp>flatten

If you dont have the .lsp file, you'll need to find it.

there's also a little program called "Coplane" by Frances Uceda.

depending on what version of cad you are working with flatten is part of the express tools.

select everything
move(enter) pick base, use coordinates 0,0,1e99
again
move(enter) pick base, use coordinates 0,0,-1e99
should move everything into same plane.
may have to move everything again to 0,0,0 (maybe)
flatten.lsp is definately the way to go

You can also select everything, click the properties, and tell the z to be 0.

yes, I second Saturn's response. I've had this same problem.

doesn't it do a live 2d section? just do it horizontally, and voila! depends whether you are ready to discard the model yet.

When you're done with flatten.lsp dont forget to use OVERKILL command to delete duplicate, overlaying elements, if any.

archangel, what is OVERKILL command? it doesn't work when i type this command.

OVERKILL is part of the Express Tools package for Autocad/ADT.
If you do not have Express Tools, you do not have OVERKILL, FLATTEN, LAYOUTMERGE, MOCORO, etc.
