hi, I will be starting my first year of architecture school at UIUC. I currently have a 2015 MacBook Pro and am looking for something new for college. I have been browsing for different computers but anything that can handle revit nd different modeling softwares remotely smoothly and compact with a fairly nice design will run me 1700+. Also, I’ve been a huge Apple person my whole life and the new MacBook Air with its price tag is just too sweet to pass. Is there anyone who has a better laptop recommendation for PC’s or anyone who has used MacBook for architecture give me some advice?

Recommend PC over Mac - not all programs run well on Mac...

if you're not offended by a constant fan, HP Omen 15-16 have shown a pretty major improvement from earlier models. relatively affordable as well.
