Is there a plugin that works with Revit that allows interactive energy modelling?
I have looked into the native Insight but that involves many steps (analytical zones etc) is prone to creating errors and doesn't offer the flexibility and speed I am looking for in schematic design.
Sefaira is the best option I have used so far, but again there are so many modelling settings with significant hindrances (no support for walls/floors by face), no option to analyse Revit masses directly and simulations take ages.
I am imagining something like Enscape but for energy modelling. I am thinking of this in respect also to the Generative Design tool that came out with the 2021 version and is somewhat promising.
Most of the interactive tools are quite heavy to control and needs quite a lot of handling of data. You should check out ladybug for grasshopper. That's a good start. And the easiest. All the developments done today are somehow linked with gh only!
I am taking a Grasshopper course soon just to see if the energy simulation process is any smoother. I have been thinking of running rhino inside Revit as you said just for this early design studies purpose.
Do you have any experience with Dynamo to do similar stuff?
No. I dont use dynamo cos of its interface. I think rhino and Grasshopper are the most beautiful Arch software and incredibly flexible and fast. I don't like revit that much but with rhino inside i would design everything on rhino and gh and document in revit. That's a game changer. BIalG used to do this with archi cad but revit is widely used. I would say go for grasshopper. You will love it.

I recently watched a video from Perkins & Will with an interactive tool called SPEED https://perkinswill.com/news/game-changer-speeding-up-energy-modeling-for-energy-efficient-buildings/. This is of course not available to the public but I am surprised as to why there are not any better options out there for Revit users that can provided a quick, smooth, interactive process for early design.

And now with rhino inside revit, you can use all the grasshopper components inside revit! Game changer
