Internship in Netherlands / Permit questions! HELP

sb421

Is there anyone who interned in Netherlands as an American student?

I was recently offered an internship from a firm in Netherlands for 5 months but I have no idea how to apply for residence permit and if I even need a working permit to go there.

Please help me with your own experience!

You cant just get a residence permit. Either the firm helps you get a work visa, or you cannot legally work in NL. Don't waste the firms time or your time. What firm is stupid enough to still do this? Its illegal for you and for them.

Kind of speaks to the firm's professional organization (or lack of) that they didn't even bother to clear this with a hire. Wouldn't be surprised if they're hardly paying a foreign intern either.
