MIT Writing Prompt
Hi! I'm applying to MIT for the SMarchS Building Technology program and the application has a slot to upload "Writing Sample".
This isn't the slot for SOP as that has been given separately.
Can you help me understand what this "Writing Sample" has to be about, or if it compulsory?
submit a sample of your past academic writing. Duh.

I believe it is not compulsory. If you look on the right side of the screen, on the page where you submit the Resume, Portfolio, etc, it does not say "You Must" with a little red symbol next to it like the other required documentation. I am applying as well and have not figured out what I would submit, if anything. My undergrad didn't heavily focus on writing, but I may re-purpose some past work if I can.
