You've gotten bad advice in the other thread. Sorry. Some junior architects are obsessed with the term design-build without having a clue what that means. It's some romantic longing for the know-it-all master builder. In reality this translates to kitchen renovation specialist in Manhattan or "custom home" renovator in Long Island.
You never properly described what it is that you want.
I want to work for a construction firm . I was not necessarily looking for design build firms , seems like that is the advice I got. I like the management, coordination part of the construction more. I don't see myself working in a small design firm long term.
I will look into both.

Go apply for jobs with Tishman or Turner or Structure Tone or Hunter Roberts. These guys handle construction projects that are world known. This is top shelf of construction innovation. Design-Build path will pigeon hole you in some bland turnkey irrelevant architecture-shaped garbage.
