UK law with small developments

Hi,

I'm a French Interior Designer who is thinking of starting my own studio.

I'm currently unsure of the intricacies of UK law and was hoping someone may be able to help answer some queries I have.

For example in France, it is legal for me, as an Interior Designer, to draw a house/extension that is under 150m2 with no signature being required by an Architect.

I would like to know if there is a similar law in the UK? What the current laws are around the submission of planning permissions? And where the legal line is between what I'm able to do and what can only be done by a trained Architect?

I'm currently struggling to find where I may access the information I need to give me a better understanding. If there are any links anyone could suggest to help or if you are able to help with the questions above - I would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you
