Queries in applications for an M.Arch in Canada after a B.Arch in India

malavikamadhukar

Hello Everyone,

I am an Architect from India, looking for a Masters in Architecture (professional) from a reputed school in Canada. I have completed a B.Arch in India and plan to look at settling in Canada.

I have applied for the M.Arch courses in U of Waterloo and McGill. They are both professional programs that are accredited by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board. I recently received a response from McGill stating that I am not eligible for the program since I am already an accredited architect and that I should apply for the post-professional program.

I would like to know if anyone has any inputs on this.

Looking forward to your suggestions and answers!

What is your goal?  Are you looking to eventually work and live in Canada?  If so, McGill might be right and your existing degree could be acceptable as equivalent under the CACB. Look it up and see.

You've applied to the 2 top schools.
