What kind of computer, network, and file size are you running?
Honestly, its my 3-minute check of Archinect usually. If Im catching up on a longer thread I double-sync; still counts as production yo!

do something with a pdf
research a product of some sort online
use software other than revit
do something that doesn't require software, such as refill the coffee cup
walk around and look out a window so my back and eyes don't go to shit.
those last two points are golden.
